This infographic from Canada Proud – based on data from the Journal de Montreal – shows how Canada’s population would increase if Mark Carney’s Century plan were to be implemented.

  • Toronto’s population would increase from 6.7 to 33.5 million;
  • Calgary would jump from 1.5 to 15.5 million;
  • Montreal from 4.3 to 12.2 million;
  • Vancouver 2.6 to 11 million people, and
  • Quebec City would go from 840,000 to 4.8 million people.

In 2023 there were 242,637 housing units build (CMHC), while 1.2 million immigrants were admitted (Toronto Star); needless to say that despite already having a housing crisis, Canada would not be able to handle the immigration. Housing, jobs, healthcare delivery, resources of all kinds would be strained to the point of outright failure.
