Mark Carney has been caught in another lie, this one about his relationship with Jiangsu Commerce Council of Canada (JCCC), a Chinese-Canadian lobby group who does work on the behalf of Beijing. When reporters asked him about his relationship with the group, he claimed he never heard about them, when pictures surfaced of him on stage shaking hands with JCCC President Jiang Rui as well as having meetings with JCCC itself. Asked about the relationship by a reporter on April 10th, Carney snapped at Globe and Mail’s reporter, and has now paused his campaign for a third time.
Why Carney has chosen to lie about his relationship and meetings with the group are beyond understanding, especially considering the highly public evidence of his meetings with the group.
Following the revelations – and after snapping at a reporter asking him about his relationship with them – Carney has paused his campaign for a third time.
